The Cornerstone District of the United Methodist Church is located in the Southwest corner of New York State. The District takes in all of Chautauqua County, the Western half of Cattaraugus County and we have two churches in Erie County.

We are one of the four Districts in the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our resident Bishop is Violet L. Fisher.

Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit ecumenical Christian organization that seeks to provide and ensure simple, adequate, safe, and affordable housing for everyone.

Millions of Americans face a housing crisis. In fact, 5.1 million American families have "worst-case" housing needs, forced to pay more than half their income for housing, endure overcrowded conditions and/or live in houses with severe physical deficiencies. While the number of families in poverty is growing, the number of affordable rental units is shrinking, and most families who qualify for government housing assistance aren't receiving any aid.

Habitat for Humanity has a local chapter.  For information on becoming involved contact Jim Hennessey.
