Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  Matthew 19:14

Sunday Morning Services
Sunday, September 9, our church services resume at 10:30 AM, beginning with singing led by our Praise Team. The service includes scriptures and a message, prayer, a children's story, and music by the chancel choir.  After the children's story, children through grade 3 may leave to go to Children's Church.

Two Cows and a Plow

Our Sunday school classes have been working towards the goal of purchasing, with their Sunday School offerings, cows and a plow for Kenyan widows as their mission project. The offerings, from the children’s classes along with one of the adult classes, are being used to fund this worthwhile mission endeavor. The community of Suna, Kenya has 20 widows who are raising their grandchildren as a result of the aids epidemic. It is hoped that each widow will be able to receive a gift of 2 cows and a plow. This will help her family become more self-sufficient as they are able to raise food and also have extra milk to sell. In June, a mission team, under Hope Unites, will go to Kenya to assist the community.

Is there anyone who knows where we might purchase bells for our cows? Please give Tom and Linda Cooper the information if you have knowledge of this.

                       Sunday School!
Both children and adults may sign up for Sunday School classes at that time. Children's classes include:

PreK-grade 3-  Taught by Laurie Faso and Eleanor Hobbs, they will be using Veggie Tales curriculum, called "Veggie Connections: Connecting to a Powerful Relationship with God".  The first unit is The Faith Connection at Veggie Lagoon.

Grades 4-12 will be using the Faith Weavers curriculum and studying Bible stories from Genesis, including Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, and Isaac being born.  Faith Weavers curriculum stresses ways we can all weave faith into our lives.

Grades 4-5 will be taught by Lori Cook and Debbie Holser.

Middle School will be taught by Brenda Hennessey, who is still in need of an assistant.

The High School Class will be taught by Tom and Linda Cooper.

In addition, SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS ARE NEEDED AT ALL LEVELS.

The Alpha program for persons interested in understanding the foundational beliefs of Christianity will be offered again this fall and the Grief Support group will also be available.
