Music Ministry is an important and vital part of our church and our Sunday morning services.  An exciting year is ahead for First United Methodist Church of Fredonia, and we invite everyone- members, visitors, non-members, college students, and community members- to in some way be a part of our music program.

Our new audio-visual system is installed and is being used every Sunday to enhance our worship services for everyone! Come see what all the excitement is about!
Todd Weinke has been hired to run this system, including a multi-channel soundboard and dual projection screens.

The Chancel Choir resumed rehearsals on Thursday nights, at 7:15 in the choir room under the leadership of Jack Sternisha.  We need and welcome with open arms sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses.  Rehearsals end at 8:30.  The Choir is planning several exciting events for this year.  A Christmas cantata, How Great Our Joy!,  will be performed on Sunday, December 11, 2005.

On Sunday, May 7 at 3 PM, the choir will be joining with Christ First United Methodist Church in Jamestown for a performance of the Rutter Requiem at the Jamestown  Church, under the direction of Steve Woods and Jack Sternisha.  We welcome singers for either of these special events, as well as our full year of worship music.

Please join us for a season of fun, camaraderie, fellowship, and music leadership as we share our talents with the Lord!

Listen to our choir!

Praise Team begins each Sunday morning worship service with inspirational and contemporary praise songs.  Martha Lesch-Wragge is the director, and always welcomes new vocalists and instrumentalists, such as guitarists and percussionists.  Please speak to Martha on any Sunday morning if you believe this would be your niche!

Three members of the FFUMC Praise Team traveled to Detroit for a seminars4worship workshop.  Jody Benson, Laurel Brown, and Martha Lesch participated in  two full days of workshops, worship, concerts and guest speakers.  The goal of seminars4worhip "as a company is to lead people around the world into the presence of God.  At these seminars, we want to give you ideas and tools to enhance your worship ministries".  Topics by the various presenters included:  The Why of Worship's Priority, Transitions & Tensions of Contemporary Worship, Bridging the Gap: Crossing Worship's Cultural Divide, Refreshing Your Approach to Blended Worship,The Passionate Pursuit of God,  Media: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow, Using Video to  Enhance Worship, and many, many other class offerings.  The Praise Team members were thankful  to be able to attend this seminar, and highly recommend the experience to anyone interested in taking the worship ministry in our church forward.

Additionally, we would like to re-start a Children's Choir and Bell Choir.  If you are interested in directing either of these groups or being a part of one of these groups, please contact Jan Sullivan at 679-1071, or Pastor Jerry Ward at 679-1513.
